Questions

A few of the things we’re commonly asked before a project starts. If your question isn’t covered here, get in touch and we’ll answer it directly.

We design and build websites for businesses that need more from their online presence.

That can mean rebuilding an outdated site, improving how customers find and understand your services, creating better enquiry or booking processes, or developing custom functionality where a standard website is no longer enough.

We focus on what the website needs to do for the business, then build around that.

JB Evolutions is based in New Zealand and works with clients globally. Most projects are handled through email, video calls and shared project tools, so working across different locations and time zones is a normal part of how we operate.

We’ve developed work and concepts around ecommerce, water delivery, trucking and mechanical, construction and civil, hospitality, health and dental, and real estate. Those industries each have their own requirements, but our work isn’t limited to them. If your business sits outside those areas, we can still look at what your website needs to achieve and whether we’re a good fit for the project.

Both. Some projects start from an existing website that needs to be improved or rebuilt. Others start from scratch. Where an existing site has useful content, structure, integrations or search visibility, we take that into account rather than replacing things unnecessarily.

Start by completing our contact form. It gives us some background on your business, your current website and what you’re looking to improve. We’ll review what you send through, look at the existing site where relevant, and get back to you within one to two working days.

That depends on the scope of the project and what the website needs to do. A straightforward marketing site has very different requirements from a site involving ecommerce, bookings, custom integrations or more complex functionality. Our contact form asks for an indicative budget so we can understand the scale of the project early. Before any work begins, the agreed scope and pricing are set out clearly.

That depends on the size and complexity of the project. The required functionality, amount of content, integrations and feedback process can all affect the timeline. We’ll provide an expected timeframe before the project begins and let you know early if a particular deadline is unlikely to be realistic.

We choose the technology based on what the project requires.

JB Evolutions itself is built with Next.js and hosted on Vercel, and we use Shopify for suitable ecommerce projects. Other projects may require a different approach. We’ll explain what we recommend, why we recommend it and how it will be managed before development starts.

The client owns the website and its content once the agreed project terms have been completed.

Where possible, important services such as domains, hosting and third-party accounts are also kept under the client’s control. Ownership and access are made clear as part of the project agreement.

We test the important parts of the website before and after launch, including forms, bookings, ecommerce functionality and integrations where applicable. If ongoing support or maintenance is needed, that can be discussed as part of the project. You are not required to stay on an ongoing support plan simply to keep using the website we built.

A website can improve how a business presents itself, reduce friction, make enquiries easier, support sales and automate parts of an operation, but the outcome also depends on factors outside the website itself. We’ll be clear about what we believe a build can improve and what it is designed to achieve, without promising results we cannot control.

Send it through and we’ll answer it directly.
